Blue-and-White and Cochin Ware Tea Leaf Containers

Blue-and-White and Cochin Ware Tea Leaf Containers

These vessels are designed to hold tea leaves. From left to right, they take the forms of a square with the motif of the Four Gentlemen, a hexagon with pine, bamboo, and plum, and a cylindrical shape adorned with circular patterns. They may also be used as containers for sweets.
By relating the forms, the blue-and-white painted motifs, and the colors of the Cochin glaze, the works were created to offer a sense of visual harmony and playful interest.
